Yap Terms of Service

Welcome to Yap, the private voice layer between friends. By using Yap, you agree to these Terms.

1) Using Yap

You must use Yap lawfully and responsibly. You may not use the service to harass, threaten, impersonate, exploit minors, violate privacy rights, or break applicable law.

2) Accounts and Access

• You are responsible for activity under your account or device session.
• Some features rely on Firebase authentication and secure app flows.
• We may suspend or restrict access if we detect abuse or risk to users or service integrity.

3) Voice Content and Conduct

• You keep ownership of your voice content.
• By uploading content, you grant Yap a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display it solely to operate the service.
• You may not upload unlawful, abusive, hateful, or infringing content.
• We may remove content or limit accounts to protect users and platform safety.

4) Ghost / Anonymous Features

Yap may offer ghost or anonymous sending modes. These modes are product features, not guarantees against all forms of identification under law, abuse investigations, or security enforcement.

5) Payments, Tokens, and Subscriptions

• Some features require paid tokens or a Pro subscription.
• Billing is handled through your app store and related processors.
• Cancellations, renewals, and refunds follow your app store billing terms.
• Entitlements may be adjusted for fraud prevention, abuse, or technical correction.

6) Privacy

Your use of Yap is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains data collection and processing in detail.

7) Service Availability and Changes

We may change features, limits, and product behavior over time (including message handling, moderation flows, or monetization options). We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

8) Disclaimers

Yap is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We disclaim implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9) Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yap and its owner are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from your use of the service.

10) Termination

You may stop using Yap at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations, legal requirements, or security reasons.

11) Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws of the owner’s jurisdiction, unless mandatory local law requires otherwise.
