Delete your Yap account

Yap lets you delete your account and user data stored with our service. Choose the option that matches your situation.

1) Delete in the app (fastest)

If you still have Yap installed and can sign in:

  1. Open Yap.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap Delete Account and confirm.

This starts server-side removal of your user-scoped data and signs you out. If you have an active Google Play subscription, cancel it in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions; deleting your account in the app does not automatically cancel Play billing.

2) No app access (email request)

If you uninstalled Yap or cannot open the app, send a deletion request from the email address associated with your account (or describe how we can verify your identity):

We will respond within a reasonable time and may ask for limited information to confirm the request. Some records may be retained where required by law or for legitimate security and fraud-prevention purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy.

3) Automatic deletion after long inactivity

Separately from the choices above, if you keep your account but do not use Yap for an extended period, our systems may send a reminder and later delete the account and associated user data under the retention rules in our Privacy Policy (approximately 700 days without activity for a warning, and approximately 730 days without activity for deletion). Opening Yap signs you in for activity tracking and resets this clock.
